Aaron has the transcript of the Eldred arguments.  Very convoluted.  I can see how hard it would be to come up with a hard and fast rule for limiting copyright term.  However, it needs to be done.  We are going to make a choice here as a nation.  We need to determine if we are going to relax into the position of being toll takers or if we are going to thrust ourselves into the role of creators.  Toll takers create once and collect money on that innovation forever.  They prevent, to the extent possible, innovation that may be derivative.  Creators are constantly working on new things, every mindful that the clock is ticking and that the money doesn’t arrive at the doorstop without continued effort.
