Cycling Diary - 9/20/04
Monday's ride: 5.2 miles in 25.43 minutes. Average speed was 13.96 miles/hour. Top speed 23.9 miles/hour.
Up Williams Street, around King's Place development, circled housing addition twice.
Nice simple ride - saw one other biker on a road bike.
First ride w/ shorts and gloves - much more comfortable...

Keep it up! I ride a Cannondale road bike, and I love it.
Soon you'll be making 20+ mile rides, and you'll probably want to switch to a road bike over the hybrid(?) that you've got now.
But have fun!

You've inspired me.
I got my bike out of storage, cleaned it up and took a test ride. Felt great!
Yea! I found an exercise I can do after my surgery.
I get bonus points though for pulling along a 40+ pound 4 year old in her "chariot".

Hi Nate,
Thanks for the post - I'll check out your blog in a sec.
This is a Trek 4500 Hardtail Mountain Bike - I'll likely get a road bike next year but as I live near a state park with some decent trails, I wanted the MTB - of course, it's a bit rougher to ride on the streets, but plenty of trail action around here.
Looking at trunk mount racks now - any recommendations?
Thanks for the kind words,
B

Erin,
I got started again three weeks ago with my old $80 Target bike from college - it's 12 years old. I am suprised I didn't destroy it.
The Trek is a *world* of difference. Well worth the cost...
I think I'm addicted now ;)
